~the Nines~

We spent the weekend in downtown Portland on a mini-vacation! Fortunately for us, the Nines luxury hotel gave away our hotel room on our wedding night. Dustin was pretty upset that night, as he had spent weeks going to different hotels "researching" the perfect spot. To make it up to us, the gave us a full weekend in their Meier and Frank Suite...at no charge! They went way above and beyond to make us feel special all weekend long. We definitely ended up with the best end of the deal. If you're looking for a fun, special, and unique spot to stay in Portland we highly recommend checking out the Nines. They offered excellent service and great facilities!

These are just a few of the highlights:

1. 1578 square feet....why do you need that much room in a hotel?
2. A conference room table...in case we needed to hold a meeting!
3. A reading room with a full floor to ceiling book case.
4. A bathroom that is 2.5 times the size of our current kitchen!
5. A full pass to The Club - food and drinks all day, every day!
6. A huge shower with 3 different shower heads...1 from the ceiling, 1 from the left, and 1 from the right.

The Room

The Bathroom
The shower was so fantastic that he didn't even take the time to get his clothes off first!

It's hard to see in this picture, but there is a 4-headed shower head from the top, one from the upper right, and one from the lower left, just below the levers. This was by far the most amazing shower either of us have ever been in.

The Club

There was champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us the first night, along with a personal hand-written note from the General Manager!
The double doors to our suite!

I don't know how I ended up on your blog ... just following a bunch of Athey links. Just had to say this looks wonderful. I'm sure it was a little stressful to find out you lost your wedding night room, but I'd think it would be great to get a whole weekend free when you're not wiped out from wedding stuff! :)
