Markets, Bridges, and Roses...Oh my!

Saturday was a very busy, yet productive and fun day. It was a day of "firsts" for the girls, which seemed to be the theme of the entire trip. Although the weather was really warm (which us Portlanders love!), the girls were troopers for hanging in there, especially Kristen who is 7 1/2 months pregnant! To sum up the day, we went to the farmers market in the morning, the Steel Bridge, and then the International Rose Gardens....but all three of these also became location sites for engagement pictures. I'll do a separate post of the pictures.

There are tons of booths just full of gorgeous, fresh cut flowers. We didn't get any since we were running around town all day and they would have died in the steamy hot car.

Check out the "pirate" behind them...this is one of many in Portland! Just kidding. But seriously, this guy walked around from booth to booth with his cooler, buying whatever food he needed for the day, week, month....the girls are giving their best pirate look.
Another very "Portland experience"...a picketing group. This group was "standing" for recycling and had signs that said things like "Make love, not trash" and then others that gave statistics such as "you can recycle over 60% of the things you use." Weird.....
Kristen tried her first ever cherry! Got to keep Baby Grayson healthy.....
This was a booth for Henry Weinhards and they not only let us sample their delicious beers but also provided us with these reusable grocery bags. Once again, very Portland!
This is just one single rose at the gardens, but there literally hundreds of thousands....I guess they just really liked this one.
Since Dustin and I got lots of face time with the camera (see in future post), the girls decided we needed some camera time as well. This is just the three of us.
Kari and Kristen are great with the camera and took lots of photo-journalistic shots. So, when Dustin got a hold of the camera, he quickly proceeded to do the same thing. I love this one!
