~Happy Birthday, AMERICA!~

This year, we had a super busy weekend celebrating the 4th of July and America's independence. Especially when compared to last year....the only care in the world was making sure we had our beach chairs and enough sun screen for a relaxing day at the beach. :) But we had so much fun this year - birthday parties, garage sales (yes, we scored a sweet patio furniture set for $25!!), running, rodeo, parades, strawberry picking, church, fun on the farm, and of course fireworks and yummy food.

I didn't have my camera out for all of these things, but I did manage to snap a few photos a couple of times throughout the weekend. First, we hit up the St. Paul Rodeo with some friends from our church home group. We met early to enjoy some of the yummy (and oh-so-healthy) fair food before finding our seats and watching the action begin. Bryn scored us some sweet seats, so we were right next to the shoots. It gave us a great view of all the fun!

Monday morning we hit up the Hillsboro Parade with a whole crew of friends. There were lots of kids, candy, cars, and loud music. Harley wasn't sure what to think of it all. But we enjoyed it!

After the parade, we came home and enjoyed some of this awesome warm weather and sunshine. Dustin washed the car while Harley and I hung out with the neighbors....and she just made herself comfortable in the kiddy pool. We're still working on teaching her proper manners. Baby Santiago is 10 months old, and he didn't mind whatsoever having another buddy in the pool with him.

After this and a little R&R, we headed up to the Eischen family farm and had so more fun. I had my camera in the car and didn't get it out, but I wish I would have - holy cow do they have some awesome views from their property. Dustin and I hadn't done much "venturing out" on the farm, but after he helped the Eischen men with some machine repair and cherry harvest prepping, he and I jumped on the 4-wheeler and he gave me a little tour. 300+ acres of absolutely gorgeous property, especially at sunset on a clear summer evening. The dogs played in the sprinklers with the kiddos, we ate some grub, and then grabbed chairs and blankets and watched fireworks from all around the Portland metro area. From their house, we could see hundreds of firework shows taking place all over town. It was pretty cool....and so were the mini-fireworks Jeff did for the kiddos.
