Nearly a month ago (yes, I am still behind on our blogging!), we spent the weekend down in Junction City. It's the annual Scandanavian Festival there, which is the big celebration and get together. In my experience, small towns across the United States are known for something and they find a reason to celebrate for a whole weekend. Seward, Nebraska (my college town) did this on the 4th of July. The town went from 7,500 to 45,000 for the one day. It's not quite a jump for the Scandanavian Festival, but you get the point. We were also able to get together with lots of family, which was lots of fun!
We started out Saturday morning with the annual 10K Scandia Run. It's a great race and our second year running in it. We beat our times by last year which was awesome!

Somehow, Dustin found some hidden energy to go bike riding with JT later that afternoon. I believe I was taking a quick snoozer on the couch during this time....right where I should be after 6.2 miles of running!
The family BBQ was probably the best part about the whole weekend. It was fun to have so many of us together in one place, with yummy food, fun games, and great weather. For how close we all live to each other, this is something that doesn't happen nearly enough! What a treat it was...

Baby Reid will be newest member of the family and we all can't wait to meet him!
The boys had fun playing this yard game...it was a fairly simply game of tossing sticks and knocking down logs. But honestly, it was one heated competition.
